Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced API Developer with strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot to design and implement robust, scalable, and secure APIs. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of API development best practices, microservices architecture, and performance optimization. Reporting to the Head of Data, you will be part of a team of Developers and Data Engineers that work closely with our delivery team to create a scalable and performant data accessibility platform.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using Spring Boot and tools like Restdocs or Springdoc.

  • Ensure API security, scalability, and high availability.

  • Implement unit and integration tests to ensure API reliability and performance.

  • Optimize API performance and troubleshoot production issues.

  • Maintain detailed technical documentation for API endpoints and usage.

  • Work with containerization and deployment tools for smooth API delivery.


Pré-requis du poste

Required Skills & Experience :

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an API developer

  • Strong proficiency in Java and Spring.

  • Experience with asynchronous programming and performance tuning in Java.

  • Knowledge of OAuth2, JWT, and other authentication/authorization standards.

  • Deep understanding of RESTful API principles, HTTP methods, and best practices.

  • Experience working with containerization(Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and automated testing.

  • Knowledge of API documentation tools like OpenAPI/Swagger.

 

 

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with GraphQL or gRPC.

  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and service orchestration.

  • Familiarity with API platforms, such as KONG

  • Understanding of event-driven systems using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar tools.

  • Basic knowledge of DevOps practices and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible).

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

  • Motivated to learn and embrace new technologies.
